Silent.Hill.2.Directors.Cut.PC.Game(djDEVASTATEâ„¢) The first Silent Hill game for the PC platform, Konami’s Director’s Cut takes the winning formula of Silent Hill 2 on the PlayStation 2 and combines it with much-acclaimed extras. Silent Hill 2 was once a holy place for protagonist James, but it’s not what it used to be, as players of the original game will attest. There are plenty of stained mattresses, dirty piles of old medical supplies, and general clutter.
Konami isn’t messing around with this game
The doors are mostly locked and the windows in the different rooms offer nothing but reflections. Comedy is strictly prohibited and everything in the game is disturbing in one way or another. There is a genuine sense of claustrophobia throughout the game, enhanced by the darkness and heavy, heavy fog.
New in the Director’s Cut is a series of new graphical features
Utilizing PC graphics cards and processing power, Silent Hill 2: Director’s Cut features enhanced visuals and stunning lighting, further exaggerating the game’s foreboding atmosphere. But most importantly, there’s a whole new chapter in the experience that can be played with a new female character. There’s definitely a lot of extra stuff to do, and it’s worth a visit even if you already own the PS2 version.

When you’re starting a new game from scratch, your first encounters with the members of the Corrupted Dimension aren’t too scary, and they’re usually easy to dispose of with nothing more than a nail club or a small handgun. These twisted people include headless nurses and dismembered torsos that drag themselves through a dense fog. The core of the game is that the player solves puzzles, wanders up and down corridors, collects and matches objects, and generally feels disturbed…

Like its predecessor, the Director’s Cut version is a brilliantly put together game. Provided you can handle gruesome and violent subject matter and don’t mind interrupted dreams, it’s definitely worth a few hours.
